Caleb was on the fast track to success.
He dedicated his collegiate career to building a glowing resume complete with internships, grades, and extracurricular involvement. He parlayed that momentum into a secure job at a multinational American company (Boeing). From there he worked hard to earn his MBA on the side.
All signs point straight to the top for Caleb.
But then the bottom fell out of the economy in 2008. For the next three years Caleb watched his secure company lay perfectly good people off from jobs they depended on.
Suddenly even his MBA didn’t make him feel secure about the ladder he was climbing (or the building it was leaning on).
How Caleb’s rewrote his story and created his own success
Caleb’s story up until now has been relatively common. But what Caleb did next is what sets him apart from the pack.
Caleb decided to take his success and his future into his own hands and build a lifestyle business. He got to work right away making connections, helping people, and delivering amazing content on his newly minted blog.

There are so many amazing takeaways from Caleb’s story, but I want to call out one big one for me here.
Be strategic, but also be moving – constantly.
Caleb points out that you must take the time to know and understand yourself, but then you must start experimenting right away. Just because you can’t clearly see the end of the road doesn’t mean the first few steps are wasted. How many times have we seen this amazing scenario unfold right here on the Life Stoked podcast, right? So inspiring!
Have you ever taken the first step and been WOWed by where it led?
