I’m sure you’ve heard successful people talk about how you have to face your fears if you want to do anything worthwhile.
It’s true, but it’s not easy. And sometimes it’s not even that helpful of advice really.
Knowing you should do something to reach a desired outcome isn’t always enough. At some point you’ve got to actually DO the action, and that’s when our brains kick into overdrive to hold us back.
I’m excited to have Jon White on the first session of the Life Stoked podcast today who shares some awesome insight into the mindset behind facing your fears.
Listen now: 001: How to begin working on your dream when you’re totally freaked out (with Jon White)
Jon is an accountant, and a personal finance coach trained by Dave Ramsey’s team. Today he talks about the very first steps he took to start building his dream from square one, and some inspiring behind the scenes steps he took that nobody else ever even knew about (brilliant!).
“We change only when the pain of the same is greater than the pain of the change.”

Rapid Fire Questions
One thing holding him back.
Belief that he could actually do it. You think that successful people have some sort of secret, but really it’s belief. Once you have that belief it changes everything.
One thing he gave up.
Cable TV. Jon loves sports and that was hard, but it was a big distraction for him too.
Jon also cut down the number of podcasts and blogs he consumes.
One characteristic that separates him from others.
A constant drive and need to improve.
